I am very pleased that GOT BAG is supporting our work in India and that we are preventing plastic from entering the oceans via the Ganges. Plastic Fischer and GOT BAG share a love for water and a common mission to protect marine biodiversity from pollution.
Plastic Fischer from Cologne is dedicated to fighting plastic pollution in rivers and oceans since 2019. Using innovative technologies, specialized boats, nets, and barriers, they collect plastic waste from waterways in India and Indonesia without harming marine wildlife. Since April 2021, the team has removed more than 1.7 million kg of plastic waste from rivers! The collected waste is then processed and recycled, ensuring it does not return to the environment.
Additionally, Plastic Fischer is involved in educational and awareness-raising efforts to raise awareness about the issue and contribute to reducing plastic waste. With their work, they have a positive impact on our environment, and we want to support them in this endeavor! As part of our partnership, we funded three Trash Booms in India at the end of last year and two more this year. We are proud to work together to combat the advancing pollution of our oceans.
