The Coral Gardeners were founded in Mo'orea, the sister island of Tahiti, in French Polynesia. As a group of island children, they observed the rapid dying of the local coral reef early on and wanted to act. They have evolved into an international collective of advocates, scientists, engineers and creatives determined to revolutionize ocean conservation.
Since 2017, the on-site team has grown to around 40 members and, together with a global movement of more than half a million people, is dedicated to saving the reefs. To date, the Coral Gardeners have planted a total of over 30,000 corals.
