Has the Coloro code system played a role in building your core and/or seasonal palettes?
Color has always been central to our brand. Over the years, we have built a strong range of Core Colors. When we started working with Coloro, we transferred each of these colors into the Coloro system. The result: core color tones that are precise, defined, and exactly on point. For our seasonal palette, we rely entirely on Coloro. This allows us to create a vibrant aesthetic that generates genuine enthusiasm and makes our products true favorites.
How does this fit into your brand identity and your customers' preferences?
We design our bags to be functional, minimalist, and durable. But minimalist never means boring. Through our partnership with Coloro, we have introduced vibrant colors that have generated enormous resonance within our community. It is a reflection of what we stand for: optimism, determination, and joy. Our customers want products that look great while also reflecting their values.
The color palette of the "MOON BAG Ruffle" is very popular with customers. Did achieving this color intensity with Coloro require any compromises in sustainability standards?
The MOON BAG RUFFLE consists of main material RE:NYNET®, a recycled nylon material made from discarded fishing nets. We specifically use RE:NYNET® for products that benefit from its lightness, soft feel, and ability to take on brilliant colors. We achieved this intensity without compromising color quality or our strict standards. The main material remains water-repellent and free of PFAS and PVC. We believe in progress over perfection, but when it comes to material safety and aesthetics, we make no compromises.
As a brand working with recycled materials, how do you experience the color selection process with Coloro polyswatches?
We work with recycled main materials, rely on precise tools, and design bags that are made to last. However, when working with recycled materials – such as RE:NYNET® (from fishing nets) or RE:PET (from coastal plastic waste) – it can be challenging to achieve the exact shade.
The use of Coloro polyswatches provides us with a well-founded, reliable reference point. They allow our design team to precisely visualize how a vibrant color interacts with the unique textures of our fabrics. The polyswatches were the original reason for us to work with Coloro, as we exclusively use recycled polyester and nylon. With our previous color supplier, we were unable to optimally transfer our colors to our recycled materials.
In your opinion, does the transferred color correspond to the original source of inspiration from the Coloro library?
Absolutely. We embrace the reality of recycled main materials, strive for absolute color accuracy, and celebrate the vibrant results. The implementation from the Coloro library to our end products is remarkably close to the original. We never had to compromise on color quality or brilliance. Seeing these energetic colors come to life on our bags brings genuine joy to our community. Small details like faithful color reproduction make a huge difference when creating products that people truly love.
How important is this color fidelity when working with materials that naturally vary in tone and texture?
Color fidelity is everything to us. Working with materials like RE:NYNET® sometimes means dealing with natural variations in tone and texture. Precise color implementation is extremely important because our community expects a high-quality, vibrant look that reflects our optimistic attitude. The Coloro system gives us the assurance that our shades consistently shine. It proves that style and purpose can go hand in hand.
