THE MATERIAL
RE:PC®
RE:PC® is a recycled polycarbonate material made of discarded water dispenser containers. We do not find these containers typically within the waste collected by our GOT BAG Indonesia clean-up program. Therefore, we source these materials from our recycling partner in Indonesia. If you've traveled in regions like Southeast Asia, you're likely aware that drinking water often comes in bottles or from water dispensers with reusable containers. Despite their reusability, these containers eventually reach the end of their lifecycle and can be recycled. Collected in a range of 50 km near the coastline, RE:PC® is Ocean Bound Plastic certified and not only recycled, but a very lightweight and sturdy material, making it ideal for luggage cases and even sunglasses.
FROM TRASH TO TREASURE

We source discarded water dispenser containers from our recycling partner in Indonesia.

The containers are sorted, cleaned, and shredded into flakes.

The flakes are processed into RE:PC pellets, then heated and molded into shape.

The recycled polycarbonate is used in our luggage and eyewear.
