On 28 June 2025, we opened the doors of our Mainz office to the public for the first time for our very first Bagyard Sale. Guests enjoyed tasty refreshments and snacks while browsing exclusive items from our design archive and learning more about us and our team.

Even before the event kicked off at 11 a.m., a long queue had formed on Breidenbacher Street with visitors eager for the Bagyard Sale. Throughout the day, around 2,000 people took the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at our Mainz-based start-up, have meaningful conversations, and secure their favourite products.

More than 1,000 items were sold during the open house. Alongside our current range of bags, backpacks, and accessories, guests could also purchase unique one-off pieces from our newest collections.

GOT BAG Prints Featuring the Mainz Cathedral and Sea Turtles

Visitors were invited to customise their GOT BAG products free of charge with pre-designed prints, such as the outline of the Mainz Cathedral or marine-themed illustrations like a sea turtle. Normally, this service is available only to corporate clients for gifts and promotions.

The hourly office tours also proved popular. Different members of the GOT BAG team guided guests through our offices in the old town of Mainz on Breidenbacher Street.

Particularly well received were the talks by Leonie Schreck, Lead of Mission at GOT BAG. She spoke about our partnership with GOT BAG Indonesia, highlighted our shared projects, and explained the foundation’s clean-up programme in Java.

As part of this programme, local participants collect plastic waste from the sea and coastal areas. The PET portion is recycled into GOT BAG products, and the remaining material is passed to recycling partners or used for energy recovery.

A Diverse Crowd of All Ages

"We’re delighted that our first Bagyard Sale was such a great success and far surpassed our expectations. It was especially rewarding to bring such a local event to life in our hometown of Mainz and to welcome such an engaged and diverse audience of all ages into our office. It definitely won’t be the last Bagyard Sale," said GOT BAG founder Benjamin Mandos.

Street Food & Drinks from Local Partners

A special thanks goes to all our partners who helped make the day so memorable: j-town kitchen provided authentic Indonesian and vegetarian food from their food truck, N’Eis added to the summer vibe with their ice cream bike, while drinks came from Kuehn Kunz Rosen brewery and Palm Bowls served coffee and matcha lattes.
